[Hey! Are you walking down an alleyway or something, Flat? Well, good news? You'll hear......someone.....................singing?]

Tra-la-la-lira-lay....

I did it the great deteteeeeective way...............

[It is literally to the tune of Frank Sinatra's "My Way". Also its coming from the tower in the center of the city. Terrible.]

[i hate this thread already why are they like this]

[anyways there is a noticable pause, but then the song....continues! hateful.]

Yes there were times, I'm sure you knew...

When Scotland Yard bit off more than it could chew....

And through it all, when there was doubt...

It was lucky Herlock was about...............

[And here's the man of the hour! He's sitting against the spire tower, tilting his head in time with the song as he continues to sing. Irene is sitting in a little hare loaf next to him. He seems to be...making notes on a sheet of paper? Interesting.]

Hm?

[He does actually startle, his hare daemon leaping in place - but he barks out a laugh.]

Oh, Mr. Escardos! Really, next time, don't interrupt a man when he's singing! I would have leaped up and given you one of my famous right hooks!

[He knocks a hand against the tower he's leaning against.]

Exploring the ins and outs of this tower, my dear fellow! Though more out than in, for obvious reasons.

Well, a number of things. Weaponry. Valuable artifacts. Or people, perhaps.

[On his sheet of paper, he's drawing a little cute bunny rabbit standing next to the oak doors, smiling.]

[He turns the paper over, and there's a whole very well-drawn and proportionate tower on the back, with jotted notes. As if he was just checking for the reference, he turns back the paper to add more detail to the oak doors.]

Perhaps. But I have an inkling that if a person does live inside, they're doing quite well for themselves. Hardly a prisoner in that case.

There's a secret to this tower, Mr. Escardos, one that's right under your nose. One which I want to see if you can put your mind to. You see, if I told you that no one lived in this tower, what would you think?

[that]

[no one lives in this tower?]

Mm, not a bad idea, there! Yes, I thought the same, but it isn't built like a fortress, is it?

[Not much protection.]

I would hazard to say that it's more of a vantage point, myself. Though, as I emphasize, no one does seem to live there.

Hm. Hmm. Yes.

[He's just staring at Flat for a while.]

Say, Mr. Escardos. A question. If you knock on a door, and someone inside says "no one is home", then no one is home, yes?

Yes.

[And a snap of the fingers!]

We have our very own Odysseus in that tower, it seems. It's occupied.

Am I not a great detective, Mr. Escardos?

[But no, he's eating up this reaction.]

I tried many ways into getting into that tower! And finally, after many fruitless attempts, I managed to get a reaction from within! It was quite thrilling. We had a good chat, actually.
