The read I got was disobedience, light, sin, and war. So... If we take your concept and apply it, then it's basically... Those that are disobedient will be destroyed. As a sort of warning to us, maybe? Obey or suffer the consequences.
It's kind of like...how it used to be a long time ago in my world. There's lots of stories of people not listening to the gods or disrespecting them, and the gods would punish them by sinking cities or making their crops go bad and making people starve. Sickness and stuff like that.
