I think there's probably layers of truth in all of this. Some might have more truth than others, but I don't think any of them will be one-hundred percent a lie.
I thought about something similar, actually. But in this world...isn't Dust like our life energy? Similar to how Ether is the base of all Mana in my world.

In that sense, I feel that the Angels may be using us to create more of it, via this competition....perhaps.
… Seeing that there have been no such thing as daemons with each world we’ve visited, I think we are the anomaly.
But I don’t disagree that the Dust is our life force since we’ve been summoned. I wonder if that realm they’re being kept in is like some kind of battery… Or storage.

Maybe, though I find it hard to imagine Christianity from Earth is a universal pillar across worlds. Or even the center of this story.
