[ he looks so happy, nodding along to both of these things. ]
Flat informed me of the situation earlier this week, so I've done my best to try and help guide in any way that I can...! And Miss Susato is very trustworthy and talented indeed. This is very fortuitous! Though, we could have really just met in our room, if we had known...
Mhm! Which brings me to another thing. Miss Susato, I told you I had two secrets when we met, but there's actually a third secret. And this one really can't get out of the three of us.
[ he looks legitimately serious. ]
I'm, uh...working for the Celestials! Like their errand boy.
. . . I suppose I ought to admit that I wasn't quite honest when I said I could not tell anyone else my faction this week. I only wanted to see the company you were keeping before I said anything. But I am a Celestial as well.
But I do agree with the idea of the sort of alliance you propose.
It is Flat's job to tell - I am only here for assistance. [ resident role wrangler xie lian ] But, we have spent some time this week looking to find others, in hopes that uniting people with similar jobs... I believe they must have titles, or something along those lines, according to Flat? Will help us all in the long run.
When we spoke of who to share information with, you were the first person the both of us thought of. [ glancing at flat, now! ] I had already shared my team with Miss Susato, before you approached me, as well.
[ san lang the ferret chitters, happy with this entire situation. ]
Basically I do what the Watchers tell me to do. So far, I've just had simple tasks, like talking to new people in private or giving out a message. [ he smiles in xie lian's direction, warm and friendly. ] I spoke to Baraqiel, and they told me that I work mostly for them, so I hope it stays that way.
But like Xie Lian said, I think that there is a Temporal counterpart of mine. I've been trying to put up notes to find them, but with so much mistrust it's been kind of difficult to tell who's handwriting that belongs to. And I think that there are probably others out there that are doing different jobs, too.
[ jack, as a ferret, chitters along with san lang, pleased with this. ]
You're the only two that know about this. I think I'm just not that good at finding Temporals, it seems.... [ awkward laughter... ]
Well, I do know of at least one Temporal. I cannot speak to whether they would be willing to join an alliance or even divulge their faction, but I also consider them trustworthy. Perhaps I ought to mention to them - without naming any details or giving away either of your identities - that I know of you, and see if they have heard of your counterpart?
We currently believe the that writer of the blue text may be the other version of the role, but we haven't been able to match handwriting to everyone quite yet. There was a theory that perhaps it might be Alphinaud, or Kaeya - but I was hesitant to attempt to reach out to anyone without a more confident guess.
I wrote to them again and I was able to get this response.
[ he'll show susato the response to his note: a note in blue ink, taped underneath the note in the game room: "Yes. Somewhere quiet." ]
The handwriting doesn't match any of them, but I'm wondering if we might be dealing with someone that knows how to change their handwriting. Can you recognize it, Miss Susato?
You wrote the original note, Mr. Escardos? Was 'crier' a term that person was like to recognize?
[I assume the answer on the handwriting is no, but she taps her jaw.]
If it is this person, then clearly they want to meet. Perhaps we could even leave a reply that they ought to deliver a message with a place and time to a particular person - myself, or Xie Lian, or even a third party we trust - and we will deliver this message to you without reading it.
[ xie lian looks to flat over the crier term because, yeah, he wasn't sure too and that explanation is probably better suited to him...
but, nodding. ]
...There were four Watchers who left us notes, too, at the beginning. None of the writing has looked like theirs so far... but, I wonder, could we possibly ask the other two who did not write if it matches theirs, too? Or, well -
[ he tilts his head, thoughtful. ] ...Baraqiel-gege informed me he doesn't really like to write. [ me, sisi, closed mouth screaming. ] And, if you are working with him, it would have been silly for him to write a note, so... perhaps we ought to check Yomiel's handwriting, as well?
Especially since Yomiel is a Temporal - this other person like you could be working with them, Flat.
Mm, no. Not the blue one stating "okay" - perhaps the one before that, that originally alerted us to this at all.
We were thinking that the blue note may have been written by someone who was unavailable last week on Thursday - which was when we received that note. The blue one came on Friday, afterwards.
Noo, the blue one came on Sunday! When I asked them what their favorite color was!
[ he'll take out the other letter--his own, and flip it over to the back.
then he'll fish out the one they all received on friday, and then the one from tuesday.
he'll arrange them in order. friday, sunday, tuesday. ]
None of these handwritings match, but that's a little weird at this point, right? I don't think three different people are trying to talk to us. Maybe two, but three seems like a bit too much.
Hmm. We will have to find another way to draw them out of hiding. As we must make sure to protect you, Mr. Escardos. Someone with nefarious intentions could want to learn your identity as well.

Well. . . Xie Lian already knows which faction I'm a part of, in fact. But I would be most happy to work with you.

That’s true… but has Yomiel given us something to compare it too? I think I’ve seen this before…
