Inside, a tin of black tea, some shortbread biscuits Waver has deemed taste like something they'd find at home, and a leather-bound notebook with fine, wrought metal caps on each corner. It comes with an enchanted calligraphy pen that doesn't need to be dipped in ink.
[ flat is somewhat surprised when he sees the package at his doorstep. while back in the clock tower he would have used clairvoyance to see through it, but there is something exciting about not knowing what is inside the box.
he opens it, taking out the contents of the box. he's wowed by everything, from the notebook to the black tea, and the biscuits as well.
but it's the note that actually gives him pause. even though it only says three words, they're enough to bring out a bright smile from flat. in fact, if waver had just given him this note alone, it would have been enough.
waver will receive a quick text a few minutes after. ]
let's share the tea and biscuits!!!!!!! i have something for you too!!!!
[A package containing a plate of homemade eclairs and macaroons decorated with fresh carnations Marie has somehow procured from the Witches has been delivered to Flat’s doorstep. There’s also a small bag of handmade potpourri, her first attempt! Happy Modranicht!]
[ A simple package containing a small, black box will arrive on Flat's porch. Inside is a pair of earrings, made from human molars. They're from the poor victim they murdered together...Romantic?? A handwritten note is attached. ]
These are for you, to mark our Bond and to reward your trust in me. Wear them if you wish.
[ Ever the educator, Ursula's gift for Flat; a star chart! At least a replica of the version she's made for her own studies, with all of her notes able to be summoned into ethereal text when he hovers his hands over each of the major asterisms.
[It strikes him so suddenly that Diarmuid nearly drops the tray he was carrying. A mixture of panic and something else he can't place, the echo of an emotion from someone who's far from him and yet closer than physical distance can possibly say.
Cú.
The witch is quick to excuse himself from the shop floor and takes to a storeroom instead, scrambling to find his device. There's no point calling Berserker; he's unlikely to have his phone but maybe-]
Flat? Is he- is Cú with you? Please, get back to me right now.
[If they're both in Dorchacht, will he even get this message? Damn it.]
[ flat is awake when cu slides the note through his door. he has always been somewhat of a night owl, and the recent events have made him a little more wary of sleeping.
he looks up the note and reads it. flat’s not necessarily surprised or upset by it, but part of him wants to go after cu anyways, for the sake of being taken along for an adventure. it seems that this will not be the case. that is okay as well.
he folds the note into the form of a paper airplane, nearing the window. and, when a strong wind blows, he sends the note flying. ]
[He hasn't seen Flat in a while. Much of his days were spent keeping tabs on the Servants, not so much the magi, but it happens that he thinks about the strange, earnest boy he bumped into during his arrival. How is he doing now? Where exactly is he? His curiosity prods him to send Flat a text, short and to the point:]
This is Andersen. Have you made yourself useful, or are you sleeping in a gutter somewhere?
[ So on one hand... Berserker said to not come over unannounced.
But on the other hand... he also said to disregard that and that it was, in fact, fine.
So, that's exactly why he's here outside the new place that the dragon has gotten for himself.
It's night, of course, Trevor only ever able to go out when the sun sets and the sky turns into a navy soup above them. Having died and risen as a full vampire now, he feels so much more alive (funny because he's UNDEAD and all now) in the cool night air and the trip from his place to the dragon's is so effortless in his movements that he finds himself smiling a bit as knuckles rap against the door he stands in front of.
This... isn't him coming over to snack on the dragon's neck for some blood. Not... really?? If it ever happens, it happens. But really, he's bored and his being here is to simply see Berserker- his Bonded and just, you know, catch up. Since his death, he's been feeling a lot better after all and the dragon did say he prefers him like this as opposed to being grumpy and moping all the time. Which, whatever. You try getting more and more sick every day and try being a fucking ray of sunshine.
But that's also why he's brought himself a bottle of alcohol as well because who is going to turn down a drink or two? Right? ]
[ that said, trevor is in for a surprise when he realizes that the person behind the door is not ciaran cu.
he's a much smaller, thinner, and less...dragon looking person who stares at him back with big blue eyes. ]
The exhibitionist vampire! [ flat is definitely impressed. and yes, that is said very loudly. some people may have stopped to stare. ] What are you doing here?! And you have clothes, too! Congrats!
[2 o'clock at Diplomatea is evidently a quiet hour for the otherwise bustling little teashop. Which is a good thing, given that there is very little about the man at one of the shop's rearmost tables to suggest he is much of anything much less any kind of doctor. It's only due to the spare clientele and the stack of papers on the narrow little table that Pellinore Warthrop - a gaunt faced, bearded man wearing clothes that don't quite fit him in all the right places, narrow wrists exposed by too-short cuffs - is easily noted at all.
Or maybe Flat just asks the employee behind the counter. Whatever.
What is striking is the bright, fiercely fixed quality of Warthrop's gaze as his attention shifts up from the folio before as the table is approached.]
[ somehow, the sight of pellinore is somewhat of a nostalgic sight for flat. the baggy clothes, the tired, jaded look of someone that had the world turn its back on him... yes, he had seen all of this before.
it's why it's so easy to spot him, and he goes over there with an enthusiasm that contrasts sharply with the doctor's demeanor. ]
Doctor! It's so awesome to meet you! [ he sets his papers down--it seems that he actually did as asked and brought something. ] You can call me Flat. Flat Escardos! Thank you for having me here!
